The Sugar Factory Film Studios stands as a pioneering initiative by the Kwara State Government, situated in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.
Designed to be a hub for the burgeoning film industry, it aims to provide state-of-the-art facilities, support services, and a conducive environment for local and international filmmakers.
Our huge investment in the creative industry is to expand the economic base of the state and deepen the creative industry. That’s the way to go. Everyone sees our state as a civil service state. We want to change that. We want to make this state a destination for high quality movie production.
Nigeria’s film industry, Nollywood, is thriving due to a rising global appetite for quality content.
Existing facilities lack modern infrastructure to meet filmmakers’ evolving needs.
Sugar Factory Film Studios, with its advanced facilities and strategic location, aims to fill this gap and become a leading hub in the industry’s growth, addressing the demand for superior film production resources in Nigeria.
Our vision is to drive the future of storytelling, cinematic brilliance, and cultural conservation in Nigeria, generate over N12 billion of IGR, create over 2000 jobs, and drive hundreds and thousands of additional tourists and visitors to Kwara State.
The film factory, specifically, is equipped with a cyclorama studio, 2 TV production studios, a large independent film production studio, Green Rooms, Makeup facilities, Training rooms, Photography studios, Co-working offices, building suites, and a large canteen.
The government plays a pivotal role in laying the foundation for the film village by providing the necessary infrastructure and land to kickstart operations.
